Tonight we enjoyed having children visit. What does the Christmas story remind us? To look for the child – the vulnerable child in a difficult place, the expected or unexpected child, the child within.
James gifted us a handmade card and told me about the three parts he is taking in a nativity play – first child, first shepherd, first wise man. We talked about the clever men who looked for signs and saw a star which they interpreted. All well and good. But first in the know were not the wise chaps at all. The shepherds perceived the angel. Listened. Acted. Ordinary people. A child. Christmas.
And then we watched it snow at Fun in the Lounge, played with toys and knew that children are where it’s at.
